Staying organized with your blog can be a challenge! From coming up with topics to write about and finding the time, your blog can become a ghost town if you don’t stay on top of it.
When I started blogging a few years ago, my mind was always coming up with new ideas about topics. I developed a heightened sense of really listening to people both on- and off-line to get ideas about what people are looking for.
I would always think, “Wow, this is a great idea, I’ll remember it for sure.” But guess what? There were so many great ideas that I never remembered any of them. So I came up with a simple system to stay organized with my blog.
These tips will help you know what to write about and stay organized with your ideas so you can implement them on a regular basis.
Write down ideas as they come to you
Sounds simple, right? You’ll be tempted to not write them down thinking you’ll remember them! Trust me. If you start writing down your blog ideas, you’ll be more organized than ever and have an abundance of topic ideas.

There are many apps for your mobile phone that you can use to jot things down quickly. Of course, a good old fashioned notebook works too!
Keep a simple file of ideas about blog topics. I have:
- Computer file
- Mobile phone file
- Notebook
I use all three because you never can predict when a great idea will make an appearance.
I like to use Google Keep. It syncs between your phone, tablet and computer so you always have access to your list.
There are other online resources available like Evernote and Curator. Paper and pen work great too.
When you have a huge list of blog topic ideas to choose from, you won’t struggle with coming up with one when it’s time to sit down and write a blog post. This is a fantastic way to stay organized with blogging.
Do Bulk Keyword Research
Now that you have your list of blog topic ideas, spend a couple of hours a month doing bulk keyword research. This is an efficient use of your time to stay organized with blogging.
Review your blog topic ideas and start researching keyword phrases to see if anyone is even interested in your blog topic. There is no sense in wasting time writing about topics that no one is interested in.

Once you complete your bulk keyword research, you can now match the keyword phrases to your various blog topics. If there are no good keywords associated with your blog topic, toss it out.
Plan Out Your Month of Blog Posts
Now that you have a list of blog topics and keywords that you associated with each post, you can plan out your month of blog posts.
Decide how often you will blog. For example, if you decide on Tuesday and Thursday, make sure you have a completed blog post scheduled to post on those days.
Your monthly schedule will look something like this:
It makes it easy! When you sit down to work, just pull up your list and start writing the blog post for that day. It’s really that simple.
Conclusion
I’ve given you three important ways to stay organized with blogging. I used these tips and it’s made life so much simplier when it comes to blogging.
This is such a useful post with some amazing tools that I didn’t even know about.
