Many people fear MLM prospecting. That confuses me because prospecting is one of the basic fundamentals of growing your business. I don’t know anyone who built a 6-figure income by recruiting a few friends and family members.
The truth about MLM prospecting is that it is the demise of most home business owners. It scares people and so they simply don’t do it! That is the truth.
But since prospecting people is at the core of your network marketing success, not doing it just won’t cut it.
So what exactly is MLM prospecting? Very simply put it’s just find people to talk to and share your business or products with. That’s it! Simple right?
MLM Prospecting Tips to Grow Your Business
If you are fearful of prospecting in your network marketing business, get over it. Do whatever you need to do to overcome that fear. If not, your business will never grow, I promise you that!
This means personal development and just doing it! Get organized and make it happen.
- Eliminate emotional attachment. You will get lots of NO’s. If you are emotional attached to a preconceived outcome or get your feelings hurt, you won’t get too far. Detach yourself emotionally. When people say no, hang up on you or aren’t nice, remember it has nothing to do with you or your business. You don’t even know this person, right? Just get off the phone, and make the next call!
- Reverse prospecting is fun. What exactly is it? Have you ever gotten calls from someone trying to sell you something? We all do. Turn the conversation around and ask them if they are keep their options open. Do the same with emails where someone is trying to prospect you! Just hit reply and say something like, “Thanks a bunch. I love my business!” Include a link to your business and wish them all the best! Bam!
- Be interested instead of interesting. When you meet people, the idea is not to immediate ask them to join your business and tell them how great it is! That is not MLM prospecting! You should F.O.R.M them. This means be interested in the person you met and ask them questions about: Family, Occupation, Recreation and Money. This is about building relationships with people so they know, like and trust you!
- Use MLM prospecting scripts. I love using scripts for phone calling. Use them enough and the scripts will become second nature to you. Be sure to practice before use. You don’t want to sound like you are reading from a script! They help guide you as to what to say to a prospect when you are on the phone. There are many ways to prospect for your MLM business. No matter which method you use, be consistent and persistent.
