Why don’t you have what you really wanted? Maybe you wanted to lost 20 pounds or you want a nice BMW, a vacation, house on the beach and so on.
You may have unconscious barriers to entry that you don’t even know that you have. Maybe you have lack of time or money, fear of success, or a bad situation in life.
But, the biggest reason you don’t have what you want is due to unconscious roadblocks that are standing in your way.
Disempowering beliefs are preventing you from moving forward and they will continue to do so unless you fix it.
The problem is a contradiction of intent between your conscious mind (thinks it’s in control) and your unconscious mind (which does everything else and really in control).
How many times have you thought to yourself, “I really need to lose weight but I’m going to eat this piece of cake with ice cream.”
Or I really need to get out of debt. Oh look, there’s a big sale at the mall. Let’s go!
I really need to build my business. But I’m watching my favorite TV show and don’t have time.
See, mixed messages!
And your unconscious mind always wins. You SAY you really want to do something but your unconscious mind tells you otherwise. Your unconscious beliefs control your behavior.
How to Overcome the Unconscious Habits that hold you Back
Make a conscious effort to practice these steps daily.
- Practice gratitude. Start each day with a grateful heart. You may have heard that saying. This alone can make a huge difference in your life. Be grateful for the good things in your life. Focus on those things that inspire gratitude. Fill your life with people and things that lift you up.
- Visualization. What reality do you really want to live? See it and feel it in your mind’s eye. You can also use a vision board. I prefer to use visualization in my mind. See and feel your desired reality each and every day. It will become familiar to you. Include your mindset in your visualization so you can see and feel yourself with the right success mindset.
- Repeat and duplicate. Create new habits by repeating those actions that are positive, foster gratitude, and get you closer to your goal. The more you repeat these actions, eventually they become a habit in your life.
- Limit negativity. There is negativity all around us. I stopped watching news on television a few years ago because of the negativity it inspired. See, inspiration can be positive or negative. I felt a huge change after I stopped that form of negative input into my life. I also limit how much new I read online because it’s equally negative and easy to get caught up in it. Create your own reality.
Great post Lisa! I also stop watching the news long time ago and feeling great. Anyway I can change some things which happens in other part of the world, but those things if I watch them can have negative effect on me. Thank you for sharing!
