How does content creation help you get more leads for your business?
It seems like a simple question to most marketers. It’s easier said than done.
To generate leads, you must build an audience and then convert that audience into customers. When content is used as the method to attract your audience, creating it requires a solid strategy so others see you as an authority in your industry.
All too often individuals and businesses create content that neither attracts or interests their intended audience. If that’s the case, you don’t have to worry about converting your non-existent audience.
Instead of creating content that is hit and miss, follow these steps to create the best content that will attract your audience.
Start with Creating Content that Your Audience Loves
Instead of creating content about topics that you (and only you) love, focus your energy on creating content around the pain points of your target audience.
If you do that on a regular basis, you will see an increase in lead generation and conversions.
People will be attracted to your content if you are clearly solving their problems with your products, services or business opportunity.

Creating content that attracts your ideal audience, requires you to understand what interests your audience.
You can create the best content ever, but if no one is interested in it, you won’t get much traction from it.
By understanding everything about your ideal audience, you can move on to researching keyword phrases that reflect the search intent of your ideal prospect.

Plan Content Topics
Once you know your audience and understand what they might be searching for, your next step is to make a list of content topics to create over a scheduled period of time.
Once you have a good list, rate each topic to prioritize the order in which you will publish it.
Make sure your content strategy is focused around conversions. You can get lots of traffic, likes, and shares on content that doesn’t produce a single conversion.
That’s not what you want!
If you want to monetize your content, make sure you have a conversion strategy.
Each Piece of Content Needs a Goal
Are you goal-oriented with your content? If not, chances are you won’t make a penny.
Let’s go back to the beginning. Writing whatever you feel like writing won’t get you results. Remember, if you want people to be interested in your content, then write content that interests them!
If your goal is to convert readers into buyers of a product, then that content will highlight and provide information aimed at people who are ready to make a purchase.
If your content marketing goal is to convert readers into subscribers, then your post will be persuasive as to why a person should opt-in to your offer. You may have an irresistible offer for a free download or giveaway.
Create content aimed at the pain points of your target audience and offer solutions to help them solve it!
Create Headlines That Get More Traffic and Shares
If your blog (or other content) title is not enticing, people won’t be inspired to view your content. That would be a sad story and you would not get traffic to the content that you took time to create.
According to Copyblogger, “On average, 8 out of 10 people will read headline copy, but only 2 out of 10 will read the rest.”

- Online communities (Quora)
- Social media sites (Twitter, Pinterest)
- These are just a few ideas to promote your content. Don’t skip this step!
