- Are you passionate about your chosen business? Starting and succeeding with a home business takes strong desire, hard work and dedication. That passion and desire will help you put forth your best effort and sustain you during the down times ( yes, there are down times).
- Take it seriously. This may seem like Mr. Obvious! However many home business owners end up treating their business like a hobby instead of a real business. Remember this: hobbies cost money, a business will pay you in the long-run, over and over again.
- Be unique. Every successful entrepreneur knows that there are competitors and even rivals for the same or similar products. How you differentiate yourself from everyone else will help you attract the right prospects to your and your business. In other words, why should someone buy from you instead of the other guy?
- The fortune is in the followup. Without followup, you cannot be a successful entrepreneur. Followup with prospects – both customers and potential business partners. Most people won’t be joining your business or buying your products that first time you present it to them. Build the relationship over time. That is how to be a successful entrepreneur. I am shocked at how many home business owners do not follow through with people they have spoken to. And don’t forget your existing customer base. You want to retain them as loyal customer and that takes follow up too!
